Third Stimulus Check On The Way
As part of of the Covid-19 Relief Bill, a third stimulus check has been passed and signed by Congress. If you lost your job or your income fell during the pandemic, filing your taxes immediately will ensure you get the maximum payment. The Democratic-controlled Congress passed this third round of coronavirus stimulus payments this past Wednesday, and sent the bill over to President Joe Biden for approval. The plan is to enact the $1.9 trillion Covid-19 package this week. This is the third round of stimulus checks being distributed to American's in need, after the $1,200 payments last March and the $600 payments in the December bill signed and passed by former President Donald Trump during his time in office. Individuals who make less than $75,000 or heads of households who make less than $112,500 are eligible to receive these checks via direct deposit. In addition to these individuals, parents are eligible to receive up to $1,400 more for each child listed on their tax returns. Lots of information, as well as lots of areas of criteria, but pay attention if you qualify and you may receive a stimulus check as soon as this week!
Hey Dasha,
ReplyDeleteThis is welcome news for many Americans who are struggling through the pandemic, students included. The media, I think, has done a fine job of instructing and informing the public on how and when stimulus payments are coming through this whole extended event. This is a particularly difficult logistical hurdle for the US government to clear, and i'm sure that a lot of people will unintentionally get left out of their payments. I wonder how the media will cover that aspect once this event is a bit further in the past.

The third stimulus is the money funding that is to be disbursed to the people of the United States. The amount sums up to $1400 after initial stimulus checks of $1,200 and $600 were made in March 2021 and December 2020, respectively. The checks are paid to the people in response to the Covid-19 measures to cater to every American. The stimulus checks will be paid, but not everyone eligible will receive the money immediately. 85% of Americans are qualified to get the money in the next few weeks, but it is unclear how many people will benefit in the first wave, and not every American will receive any amount this time either. The money may help with a few bills, but it doesn't help in the long run over all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for informing us! The American people needed this third stimulus package alongside the other public benefits that they will receive or that has been extended for so many.
ReplyDeleteI think the stimulus is a good thing they should have done this awhile ago or given rent forgiveness or something due to people literally not being able to leave their house. I don't think the eviction delays were enough because that really is not fair to put someone in that massive amount of debt and still expect them to pay it off when they were barely keeping their head above water as it is.
